Olympics: Bad luck and pain

Photo: Casey GibsonThe Olympics have come to a disappointing end for Dolphin-Trek riders Bart Brentjens and Rudi van Houts. Brentjens, who was focused on setting a good result on his 4th Olympic Games, suffered from a fracture in his hand which he got during the Dutch Nationals a few weeks earlier. A crash in the race threw Brentjens back further. Rudi van Houts was off to a good start, but crashed twice and flatted. Brentjens came in on position 37, whilst Rudi van Houts made it to 34th position. The race was won, in supreme style, by Julien Absalon, who becomes the first mountainbiker to succesfully defend his title. Second was Jean Christophe Peraud and third position was for Nino Schurter.
