Oss, The Netherlands - The Dutch national championships have been won by surprise by cyclo-cross rider Thijs Al. Dolphin-Trek rider Rudi van Houts finished second overall. Bart Brentjens still suffered a lot from his injury after a crash in training a few days ago. Brentjens managed to finish as fifth today despite all pains.
The track was a fast one with short, steep climbs. Van Houts simply missed that but of power on this cyclo-cross style course. Especially when it started to rain as well, Thijs Al took the oppurtunity to attack.
