The Team
In 2003 a group of young enthusiastic riders started their own team. The business concept was to combine sports, a businessclub for partners and charity into one team. The foundation Holland Pro Cycling Team was founded. Main character in these developments was teammanager Ralf van Heugten, born in 1976 and a former semi-pro rider. The team has developed itself within the span of a few years into an European subtop team and national top team. After only one season the team became a professional trade team. In 2006 TREK Benelux and the management of the Dolphin team started their campaign. The international exposure reached far beyond the borders of The Netherlands. A strong demand for an European top team has risen. The team has grown in riders, partners, exposure and most important; a professional structure. A board of the foundation in which the team operates keeps control of all lines. A workshop, ware-house and office have been opened in Nuenen (The Netherlands) in 2006. The location of the team is near the TREK Europe distribution center and offices in The Netherlands.The current main sponsor of the team, Dolphin fresh water, is located near the team. This all contributes to fast and flexible communication between our most important partners.
Currently the Dolphin-Trek mountainbike racing team is 5th in UCI worldwide rankings, won the Tour de France mountainbike, holds 5 national champions and most important has several candidates for the 2008 Olympics in Beijng, China. The Dolphin-Trek team aims for all disciplines in one team; we have road activities, gravity events, cycling clinics and cross-country racing.
